Baxter & Woodman, Inc. Consulting Engineers announces the hiring of several key staff members to serve the firm’s growing client base.
Douglas Swanson joined B&W Control Systems Integration, LLC as Systems Integrator. Mr. Swanson will design, install and test supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and will work out of the firm’s Mokena office. Mr. Swanson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Olivet Nazarene University. Most recently with Enercon Engineering, Mr. Swanson has 7 years of experience in PLC programming and electrical engineering. Mr. Swanson currently resides in Goodfield.
Emily Grimm joined the firm’s water/wastewater design group after completing her Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, focusing in hydraulics and hydrology. She serves as an Environmental Project Engineer responsible for the study and design of water and wastewater systems. Ms. Grimm recently relocated from Bloomington, Ind. to Wicker Park in Chicago.
Joanna Ptasinski joined the marketing team and will work out of the firm’s new Chicago office. Ms. Ptasinski earned a Communication and Marketing degree from Concordia University Chicago, and most recently worked for the Illinois House of Representatives. Ms. Ptasinski will provide support to corporate communications and business development. Ms. Ptasinski resides in Oak Park.
Senior Engineer Earns BCEE Accreditation
Baxter & Woodman, Inc. Consulting Engineers is pleased to announce that Mr. Christopher F. Buckley, PE, BCEE, Project Manager in the firm’s Water/Wastewater Department has earned his Board Certified Environmental Engineer(BCEE) Professional Credential from the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists. To secure this title, Mr. Buckley demonstrated competence through comprehensive written and oral examinations in the specialty area of Water Supply/Wastewater Engineering. The BCEE designation is internationally recognized as a premium credential awarded to experienced professionals who have demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of specialization. The Academy certifies only the world’s very best engineers and scientists. BCEE certified engineers are an elite group dedicated to improving the practice of engineering.

Consulting Engineers was recently named one of the Top 50 trenchless technology design firms in the country.Trenchless Technology magazine, a leading national publication promoting the rehabilitation and installation of underground infrastructure around the globe, ranked Baxter & Woodman #33 on their listing of leaders in the trenchless technology field based on results from their annual survey for 2012. Survey criteria included statistics on overall billings, trenchless billings, number of trenchless professionals and total number of completed projects.
